How Much Weight Can I Lose On Two (2) Weeks Of Medifast?
By: Lindsey Price: I sometimes hear from people who only have a little bit of weight to lose and they are interested in medifast. I heard from someone who said: “I really only need to lose around 10 – 12 pounds, so I’m wondering if I could lose all of the weight within only two weeks. Is this possible?” I’ll tell you my response below.
The Ranges: There are ranges that you will typically see tied in with weekly medifast weight loss. Based on the company’s own literature and clinical studies, the ranges that you will often see are 2 -5 pounds per week for the first two weeks and 1 – 2 weeks after that. The problem with these type of ranges is that it can be difficult to know if you are going to be on the low or high end of the range. And in my experience, your experiences can vary by the week. I’ve been on both the very high and very low ranges. Some weeks, I can tell you exactly why I’m seeing what I am on the scale. Sometimes it’s pretty obvious that I haven’t moved my body much and I haven’t been exactly complying with the diet. So on those weeks, I might expect to see a little less weight loss. But I will fully admit that I’ve had some great weeks when I haven’t really worked out or complied that much either. In short, there are weeks when I’ve great results when I probably didn’t deserve it and there have been weeks where I expected good results only to fall a little short. So, I find that sometimes, there doesn’t appear to be a definitive reason for your results. To deal with this, I just tell myself that any loss is a blessing and I tend to look at my averages rather than placing so much stock in each individual week.
Still, I often think that if you don’t yet know how you might respond to the diet (or which end of the range you will most likely be in,) you can average this range for a total of 3 pounds per week during those first couple of weeks as a rough guideline only. Now, keep in mind this is an average. You could certainly do better or worse than this. But without knowing for sure, this average at least gives us a concrete number to work with. So, considering 3 pounds a week for the first two weeks, she could have possibly have been looking at six pounds over the course of that two weeks. This wasn’t set in stone, of course. The lower end would be 4 pounds and the higher end would be 10 pounds.
And as I’ve alluded to, any one can be on the top or the bottom end of the range or even outside of the range. I know people who are consistently on the high end and I know some who kind of remain stable from week to week. So it is really hard to say where you will fall. But if you plan to at least move a little more on a regular basis, remain in compliance, and be vigilant about your lean and green meals, there’s no reason to believe that you won’t fall somewhere that will make you happy.
Now, how she ordered her food was really going to be up to her. She could assume a higher weekly weight loss and go with the 2-Week Package for Women, but this wouldn’t leave her any left over food for maintenance. The cheaper and more efficient way to do this might be to order a 4-Week Package for Women
using coupons, using the foods until she lost her goal weight, and then using whatever was left over to help her to transition slowly off of the diet to ensure that she was able to easily keep it off.
