Can You Buy Medifast Shakes At Stores?

I actually get a lot of emails asking me where to buy medifast shakes.  I have people tell me that they look at all sorts of places – like the Wal Mart, Target, Amazon, and supermarkets.   These are all great stores, but as of this writing, medifast isn’t available in big box or retail stores.  As of now, you’ll likely strike out at your local pharmacy, drug or health food store too.

I think this misconception about buying medifast shakes at stores comes with a bit of confusion with diet shakes like slim fast and Atkins (the former contains more calories, carbs and sugars than medifast the last time I looked which you can get in stores.)  These are different companies and different diets and generally medifast doesn’t sell their products through retailers (although there are some clinics.)

The good news is that it’s very quick and easy to buy medifast shakes right from the Medifast Official Site. They allow you to order most of the foods individually and the same is true with the shakes.

The Medifast 55 Shakes are usually the most popular shakes for women on the 5 plus 1 plan.  They usually come in a pack of 7 for around $15 and they come in flavors like banana creme (of my favorites,) orange creme, strawberry creme, french vanilla, dutch chocolate, and Swiss mocha (which I also like very much.)   Now these are the shakes that you have to blend up either using a blender or one of the shakers.

However, medifast also has the Medifast Ready-to-Drink Shakes which are the shakes that you don’t have to blend.  As their name implies, they come already made / mixed and they come in a little juice box type container with a straw.   You can buy them individually or you can get a case of 24 for about $60 so you are paying for that convenience.  These come in dutch chocolate and french vanilla.  A lot of people love the convenience of these, but taste wise, I prefer the 55 shakes because I like to make them a bit more thin in consistency but that is just my own personal preference.

I know that some people do medifast with only the shakes.  They will replace a few of their daily meals with the shakes because they are saving calories and carbs this way.  And many people have success with and are happy with this plan.  But, there are lots of other foods on medifast besides the shakes.  They have around 70 different food options.  If you like, you can see a medifast food list at http://easiest-diet.com/free-medifast-ebook/html
